Godshilla Takes to the Streets

LONDON — A monster triceratops held up traffic on the Isle of Wight on Friday night.

The replica beast was spotted in the middle of the high street in Godshill towards the south of the island and swiftly became a celebrity on social media.

The dinosaur is nicknamed Godshilla and belongs to Martin Simpson from Island Gems, who told Isle of Wight County Press it wouldn’t have been an easy thing to place in the road.

“It must have taken five hefty lads to move it,” he said. “It’s great people are talking about it, but I wouldn’t want to encourage anybody to cause a hazard for traffic.”

A number of people posted pics of the dinosaur, speculating that alcohol may have been involved in the decision to move the beast. “That priceless moment when you’re driving home from work at 3 a.m. and the road is blocked by a 20ft Triceratops,” Chris Hollingshead wrote on Facebook. “#godblessbeer.”

“Dinosaur found outside The Taverners pub in Godshill last night,” another wrote. “Beer & high jinx clearly on the menu!”

Baby Polar Bear finally gets a name

How can you not just smile when you watch a real life teddy bear walking around and playing!

The votes have been tallied and the Columbus Zoo’s baby polar bear’s name is officially “Nora”.

Naming the baby bear, which was born on Nov. 6, was no easy task. In order to ease the responsibility, the Zoo set up a vote allowing participants to choose between “Desna,” “Nora,” “Kaya” or “Sakari.” In total, 88,061 votes were cast from 115 different countries.

In the end, however, the name Nora prevailed. It’s a combination of “Nanuq” and “Aurora,” her parents’ names.
